Holidays are coming, work is piling up, and everything feels like it needs your attention yesterday. Sound familiar?
It can make it feel that much harder to make choices for your health. I want to help! Let's talk about how to stay (somewhat) on track with healthy choices even when life’s a circus. Here are some of my go-to's when I feel overwhelmed:
Batch Snacks Like a Boss
Keep your healthy snacks (think nuts, fruits, cheese sticks) ready to go. Instead of digging into whatever’s nearby when you’re starving, have these on standby so you don’t end up reaching for candy bars at the store checkout.
Hydrate Like It’s a Job
Water keeps you feeling good, and half the time hunger is just thirst in disguise. Carry a water bottle with you, keep it in sight, and sip whenever you think of it.
Find Time for a 5-Minute Movement Break
A little movement is better than none, so fit it in whenever you can. Stretch, walk, do a few lunges—whatever feels right. Don’t let lack of time be your excuse to skip it entirely!
Outsmart Your Inner Critic
Holidays and busyness can lead to a little self-blame if you’re not ‘perfect’ with choices. But perfection isn’t the goal—balance is. Do the best you can, keep it simple, and remember: one busy week won’t derail your progress.
Plan Ahead (Without Going Overboard)I
f you’re dining out, try to look up the menu in advance and pick something that fits your goals. Having a plan will keep you from feeling overwhelmed and making choices you’ll regret.
Busy doesn’t mean unhealthy. Healthy choices can be as simple as grabbing water, choosing balanced snacks, and moving when you can. Keep it as simple as you need for the phase of life you are in!
