I discovered many years ago that “starting over” after the holidays sucks! It feels so much harder to get going again with any kind of routine.
I was on a phone call with a potential new client when she told me that every year, she can’t wait for the holidays to be over since she can get back to her routine (even though it was her favourite time of year!)
She told me that the holiday season leaves her feeling bloated, exhausted, blah and behind on her goals. Not to mention, she has always felt guilty spending time and money on taking care of herself because she thought she should be spending it on someone else.
Sounds like a lot of people I know, actually (Hi, I'm a lot of people, it's me)!
I don’t have to be the one to tell you that the best way to enjoy the holidays is to feel good so you have the energy to spend quality time with your friends and family.
Running on empty is frigging hard.
My new client and I decided that this year would be different for her. She realized that she is actually in full control and that she (and her family!) deserved better.
That’s why she actually signed up for my online personal training through the Refire app and I am so proud of her. She’s on track to go into the holidays feeling great and knowing that she still gets to enjoy them! Her routine and heathy habits are getting built now so that when she gets busy with holiday tasks and gatherings, they will stick with her and keep her feeling awesome!
The holidays are coming up fast. If this sounds the least bit familiar - remember that you are in full control, too. You can absolutely do anything you put your mind to if you make it a priority.
It’s time to lean to your self-care...so that you can make this holiday season one of your best yet.
Let me know if you’re with me in committing to a healthy holiday season in 2021. It can be simple – just staying on track with your water and making sure you keep time for exercise can make all the difference!
If you have a goal to get strong and healthy, why wait?! Start now, where you are!
